Prashant Kishor is an Indian business tactician and political strategist who has worked for various political parties like Indian National Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party, Aam Aadmi Party, Trinamool Congress, DMK, and YSRCP. In 2018, Janata Dal (United) hired him as their tactician and political strategist. In 2020, he was suspended from the party for condemning party head Nitish Kumar’s supportive stand on the Citizenship Amendment Act. Kishor has worked for the United Nations for eight years as he was trained in political tactics and strategies. He rose to prominence after his first political campaign in 2011 where he helped Narendra Modi get re-elected as Gujarat CM for a third term in the 2012 Gujarat Assembly Elections. In 2014, he conceptualized an election campaign group called Citizens for Accountable Governance that helped BJP win a majority in the Lok Sabha elections. Following this, he left Modi and worked with Nitish Kumar to help him win the position of Bihar Chief Minister for the third term in the 2015 Assembly elections. He was hired by the AITC for the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2021 which led to the party’s landslide victory. Following this, he declared his retirement as an election strategist.
